Our Partnership with KAPE: Advancing Digital Education and School Innovation

Kampuchea Action to Promote Education (KAPE) is one of Cambodia’s leading local non-governmental organizations working in the formal education sector. Headquartered in Kampong Cham Province, with a branch office in Phnom Penh, KAPE works across preschool, primary, secondary, and tertiary education to improve education quality and expand learning opportunities for vulnerable children and young people.

KAPE works closely with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, communities, and development partners to promote innovative and inclusive education. Its areas of expertise include digital education, teacher professional development, literacy, school infrastructure, library development, life skills, career counselling, and STEM education.

ChorogUsan for children Cambodia is the strategic funding partner of the Improving Digital Education for All Learners, providing a total investment of USD 1 million as well as strategic support to advance the project’s objectives. KAPE serves as the lead implementing partner, overseeing the implementation and coordination of project activities in close collaboration with participating schools, communities, and relevant education authorities.

Implemented from April 2024 to December 2026, the IDEAL Project supports 12 public schools in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province and aims to benefit approximately 8,000 students. The project establishes 21st-century libraries, modern ICT laboratories, and internet-connected classrooms while providing learning resources that strengthen literacy, digital skills, online safety, and technical competencies. KAPE also deploys dedicated mentors to help teachers and librarians use technology effectively and engages parents, communities, and students in promoting safe and responsible technology use.

Through this partnership, ChorogUsan for children Cambodia, as the project’s strategic funding partner, and KAPE, as the lead implementing partner, combine their resources, expertise, and shared commitment to strengthen school governance and create safe, inclusive, and innovative learning environments. Together, the two partners aim to equip Cambodian children and young people with the knowledge and skills they need to learn, grow, and succeed in a digital society.
