Our Partnership with ChildFund Cambodia: Advancing Inclusive and Quality Education
ChildFund Cambodia is the representative office of ChildFund Australia, an independent international development organization working to reduce poverty and create lasting positive change for children in developing communities. ChildFund Australia is a member of the ChildFund Alliance, a global network of 11 organizations supporting nearly 36 million children and their families in more than 70 countries.
ChildFund Cambodia began operating in Cambodia in 2007. Working in partnership with local civil society organizations, government ministries, and relevant authorities, it promotes community and systems-level change that enables vulnerable children and young people, in all their diversity, to exercise and realize their rights. Its key areas of work include child protection, inclusive education, youth empowerment, school governance, early-grade learning, and child online safety.
ChildFund Cambodia is currently partnering with ChorogUsan for children Cambodia to implement KOICA funded Easy to Learn (E2L) Phase III, a three-year education project supporting 17 primary schools in Chhloung District, Kratie Province. The project aims to improve children’s learning outcomes, particularly in early-grade reading and mathematics. It strengthens teachers’ professional capacity, improves safe and child-friendly learning environments, expands access to digital and supplementary learning resources, and provides targeted support to vulnerable students.
This ongoing collaboration builds on the successful completion of Easy to Learn (E2L) Phase II, which laid important foundations for improving the quality of teaching and learning. The lessons, achievements, and effective practices developed during Phase II continue to inform the implementation of Phase III and support more sustainable improvements within schools, communities, and the wider education system.
The partnership also includes the successful completion of the Improving Digital Competency in Education Project, which helped bridge the digital divide for more than 64,000 students, teachers, and parents in public schools across Phnom Penh, Kandal. Through improved ICT facilities, digital learning resources, teacher training, and education on digital literacy, financial literacy, and online safety, the project supported children and young people, including children with disabilities, in developing essential skills for their education and future employment.
Together, ChildFund Cambodia and ChorogUsan for children Cambodia, with funding support from KOICA for E2L Phase III, are working to advance inclusive, equitable, and quality education. This partnership aims to ensure that vulnerable children have access to supportive learning environments and meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
